Master of Professional and Practising Accounting

Program Overview

The Master of Professional and Practising Accounting at Melbourne Polytechnic is a 2-year postgraduate coursework degree designed to give international students advanced professional accounting skills and knowledge across financial, management, corporate and commercial accounting, auditing, law and research methods. The course is accredited by CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) — offering pathways into professional accreditation. The degree includes a blend of on-campus and blended learning delivery and prepares students from both accounting and non-accounting backgrounds for managerial roles in accounting, finance, consulting and business leadership. Core topics include financial reporting, auditing and assurance, taxation practice, corporate law, economic decision making, data analytics, information systems for managers, strategic management accounting and an accounting research project.
