Program Overview

The Master of Information Technology at Melbourne Polytechnic is a future-focused, industry-aligned postgraduate degree that equips international students with advanced technical expertise and professional skills across computing domains including cyber security, data analytics, systems design, programming, AI integration and IT project management. Developed in collaboration with industry standards and frameworks, the course blends practical learning with applied research through real-world case studies, collaborative projects and specialised subjects. The curriculum allows students to tailor their studies via two high-demand majors — Cyber Security and Data Analytics — where artificial intelligence is embedded throughout the learning experience to solve complex technological challenges. The program also offers nested exit awards (Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma), enhancing flexibility and career progression options.

Specialisation / Majors

The Master includes two main specialisations that shape your advanced IT focus:
• Cyber Security — covering network communication, cloud & IoT security, risk management, cryptography, penetration testing and digital forensics.
• Data Analytics — focusing on data mining, business process analytics, machine learning, mobile/web intelligence, big data & cloud analytics, and IoT/blockchain intelligence.
