Master of Counselling

Program Overview

The Master of Counselling at Excelsia University College is a two-year postgraduate qualification designed for international students who aspire to become professional counsellors across diverse settings. The program develops advanced counselling skills, theoretical understanding, ethical practice and cultural competence. Coursework includes individual and group counselling methods, therapeutic frameworks (such as person-centred, cognitive behavioural and systemic approaches), human development, trauma-informed practice, case conceptualisation and professional standards.

A key feature of the program is supervised clinical placement, where you work directly with clients in a professional context under supervision — an essential component for building confidence and professional readiness. Graduates are equipped to work in multidisciplinary teams within community organisations, health services, schools and private practice.
