The Bachelor of Health Science at Victoria University prepares international students for careers in public and community health by building skills in disease prevention, health promotion, epidemiology, health research and policy development. The degree emphasises real-world experience through collaboration with health institutes, community organisations and practical learning. From the second year, students focus on their areas of interest within health science studies.

Majors & Focus Areas:
Students complete a major in Public Health (core focus), and then choose one of the following pathways for deeper study:
• Public Health Major (core)
• Indigenous Health Major (focus on Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander health issues)
• Minor studies options — students can substitute the second major with two minors:
• Indigenous Health
• Health (Sport Science)
• Health & Nutrition
• Bioscience
How it works:
• Option A: Public Health + Indigenous Health double major
• Option B: Public Health major + two minors (choose from the list above)
These allow students to tailor their expertise to specific health fields while completing the Bachelor of Health Science.
