The Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) at Melbourne Polytechnic is a 4-year undergraduate degree designed to prepare international students for practical and technological roles within the civil engineering sector. Combining strong foundational engineering knowledge — including mathematics, mechanics, surveying, materials, structural design and infrastructure systems — with work-integrated learning (WIL), this program focuses on the planning, design and construction of roads, bridges, water resources and municipal infrastructure. Students engage in applied projects, industry internships and a 300-hour capstone engineering subject to connect academic theory with real-world practice. Graduates are ready to work in multidisciplinary contexts spanning construction firms, engineering consultancies, local government and infrastructure development.
