The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education at Victoria University prepares international students with the knowledge and skills to support children’s development from birth to five years. The degree combines (theory) and practical professional experience including 80 days of supervised teaching placements in early childhood settings such as childcare centres and kindergartens. Students learn child development, curriculum planning, inclusive and ethical practice, family engagement, social justice, pedagogy grounded in diverse cultural perspectives (including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander standpoints), and effective transitions to school.
