Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours)

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) at Victoria University prepares international students to take leading roles in planning, managing and delivering residential, commercial and industrial construction projects. The program combines theory with industry-connected, real-world learning and project-based assessments that reflect current construction standards and practices. Students develop skills in project planning, cost control and budgeting, contract documentation, compliance with building codes, sustainability, negotiation, tendering and supervising construction teams. The degree also includes a capstone research or industry project in the final year that integrates knowledge from across the curriculum.

Specialisation / Majors

• Minor Options (within the Honours degree):
  Students choose one minor (48 credit points) as a focus area within the course structure:
  • Building Compliance – focuses on building codes, legislation, sustainability and compliance strategies.
  • Quantity Surveying – emphasises cost analysis, digital methods, price analysis, measurement and advanced quantity surveying practices.
• These minors act as practical specialisation pathways that shape the student’s expertise within the larger construction management honours degree.
